Terms of Service

Effective date: 18 August 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a legal agreement between you and Scanly LLC for use of https://scanly.mn and the Scanly mobile app (the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Provider

The Service is provided by Scanly LLC. Website: https://scanly.mn.

2. The Service

Scanly is an informational app that scans food and beauty product barcodes and shows health scores, ingredients, additives, labels such as Nutri-Score / NOVA / Green-Score, and in some cases price estimates.

Some products may be missing. You may voluntarily submit missing products. We may review, publish, or reject submissions.

3. Scanly Premium (auto-renewable subscriptions)

The Scanly iOS app offers an optional paid subscription called Scanly Premium. Barcode scanning and health scores remain free. Premium unlocks additional in-app features described below.

Subscription name, length, and price are shown in the app before you confirm purchase. Apple sets the price in your local currency. Approximate list prices are about $2.99 USD per month (monthly plan) and $29.99 USD per year (yearly plan).

  • Scanly Premium Monthly — 1 month, auto-renewing (product ID: scanly_premium_monthly).
  • Scanly Premium Yearly — 1 year, auto-renewing (product ID: scanly_premium_yearly).
  • Premium features: detailed additive explanations (E-number info and risk levels), approximate market prices at Mongolian stores, and support for independent, ad-free product information.
  • Access to Premium features depends on an active Scanly Premium subscription for the relevant Apple ID account.
  • Billing and payment processing for iOS subscriptions are handled by Apple. Payment is charged to your Apple ID when you confirm purchase.
  • Subscriptions automatically renew unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
  • Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the current period ends.
  • Manage or cancel in Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions on your device.
  • If you reinstall the app, use Restore purchases on the Premium screen to restore an active subscription tied to your Apple ID.
  • Refund requests are handled by Apple under Apple’s policies. Contact Apple Support for billing issues.

4. Not medical advice

Scanly is not medical, nutritional, or professional health advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Scores, warnings, and ingredient explanations are for general information only.

For allergies, illness, pregnancy, diet, or medication decisions, consult a qualified professional. Always check the product label and official information yourself.

We are not liable for decisions or outcomes based on the Service.

5. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are under the age of majority where you live, use the Service only with parent or guardian permission.

6. Accuracy and limits

We collect and process product information for display in the Service, but we do not guarantee that information is complete, current, or error-free.

  • Ingredients and recipes can change.
  • Some products may be missing, outdated, or incorrect.
  • Price estimates are approximate and may differ by store, date, or region.
  • Scores are general assessments based on our methods, not official certifications.

7. User submissions

If you submit product information, you confirm it is accurate, lawful, and does not infringe others’ rights.

You grant Scanly LLC a worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable license to use, host, reproduce, modify, and publish that content to operate and improve the Service. You keep ownership of your submissions.

We may remove or refuse content that is inappropriate, inaccurate, or unlawful.

8. Acceptable use

Use the Service only for lawful purposes. You must not:

  • Copy, reverse engineer, or resell the Service without permission.
  • Scrape, overload, or try to disrupt the Service.
  • Submit false, misleading, or infringing content.
  • Distribute malware or invade others’ privacy.

9. Intellectual property

The Scanly name, logo, app, website design, text, graphics, software, and related materials (other than third-party source data) belong to Scanly LLC or its licensors. You may not copy, modify, or use them commercially without our written permission.

10. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Scanly LLC and its officers, employees, and partners are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost profits, lost data, business interruption, or health-related decisions or outcomes.

If liability cannot be excluded, our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the claim (or zero if you paid nothing), except where prohibited by law.

12. Indemnity

You agree to defend and indemnify Scanly LLC against claims, damages, and costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your submissions, or your breach of these Terms.

13. Suspension and termination

We may change, suspend, or discontinue the Service, and may suspend access if we believe you violated these Terms. You may stop using the Service by uninstalling the app.

14. App stores

If you download the app from the Apple App Store or Google Play, their terms may also apply. Apple and Google are not parties to this agreement, except as third-party beneficiaries where required.

15. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Mongolia. We will try to resolve disputes informally first. If not resolved, courts of Mongolia have jurisdiction, unless applicable law requires otherwise.

16. Changes to the Terms

We may update these Terms. We will post the updated version on this page. Continued use after changes may mean you accept the new Terms.

17. Miscellaneous

If any provision is unenforceable, the rest remain in effect. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement for the Service.
